Nick Stargu started his career in music in Connecticut, with the horribly named but instrumentally proficient prog-rock band - Karma. Tired of performing songs that lasted over 10 minutes, Nick began writing short songs based on weird characters and things that ranged from blankets to thievery. Inspired by a self-centered DJ at an open mic, Nick created the DJ Real character, and decided to take the strange songs he wrote to the stage. Three albums, 37 bad dance moves, and hundreds of rocked stages later, the DJ Real act is a sight to be seen! DJ Real has been performing throughout the Bay Area\'s music and comedy circuit, most recently featuring at the 2008 San Francisco Sketch Festival. His live act draws inspiration from the likes of the Talking Heads, The Residents and Steve Martin. Nick is currently promoting the release of his fourth studio album, Personal Growth. New Haven Advocate - \'...Stargu continues to create Real-y funny characters with his quirky dance moves, crazy costumes, rhymes, beats, pre-recorded voice tracks (sometimes the voice of God, sometimes his mom)...\'
