Product Notes

Scott, I find your concept refreshing, in that you are taking basic Rockabilly music and giving it more of a Jazz flavor. You guys are doing something different, so I applaud you for that. Bob Cianci, Music Columnist, River Reporter, Narrowsburg, NY Playing a brand of music that they call a mixture of Blues, Rockabilly and Guitarswing, Bluesabilly is Djangobilly a/k/a Scott Prater's debut recording. The disc leads off with Gonna Die Blues (a/k/a Sometimes), an original number full of swinging guitar work. The bands musicianship shines through on this cut. The next cut, How She Really Feels has a jazzy, after hours feel to it. Buddhist Blues is done in the classic Chicago style and features some slashing slide guitar work. The final cut She Knows brings the bands rockabilly influence to the forefront to close the album on a high note. Scott Prater is a welcome addition to the heavily talented Dallas/Ft. Worth Blues scene. It will be interesting to see where future projects take the band. If you are a fan of swinging guitar Scott Prater is well worth checking out.
