Deeper Kind of Blue
Formed in 2003 by singer / songwriter Ben Robinson, DMZ aims to make music based on real feelings and emotions. Incorporating a number of influences from the past mixed with popular styles of the present DMZ strive to reach a wide audience by writing songs of quality that relate to the lives of real people. As frontman Ben puts it 'Music to me is about two basic things, emotion and melody. A good song can reach you like nothing else can, it can capture your feelings at a given time. It can touch your heart and soul and send a shiver down your spine.' Often compared with Coldplay, Travis and Lighthouse Family, DMZ capture that unique U.K. sound. Songs about love, longing and lonliness predominate. The debut album 'A Deeper Kind of Blue' is an album of classic love songs, raw emotion and infectious melodies. 'Too many artists write two or three good songs and then fill their albums with sub-standard material.' says Ben. 'I believe that every song on the album is a good song in it's own right.' The first DMZ album 'A Deeper Kind of Blue' is due to be released in October 2004. A second album 'Melancholy' is currently being recorded and is set for a March 2005 release.
