Postcard from the Mystery Spot
Don Arbor's new CD, 'Postcard from the Mystery Spot,' presents a set of original pop, rock, reggae, blues and even surf tunes, backed by a stellar band, featuring Stef Burns, lead guitarist with Huey Lewis and the News. Just released in November 2002, 'Postcard' has three tracks on the airwaves, and it already made the 'Up and Coming' Charts (New Music Weekly, 1/17/03)! 'Postcard' showcases Don's pure, clear vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and versatile songwriting talents. Listen to 'Average American,' the rocking tale of a sympathetic working guy who thinks he 'may have already won,' (Not!) Stef's guitar work is absolutely smoking. Or check out 'Electrician,' for a 'commercial' about NOT joining the army. 'Wild Blue' is an irresistible Beach Boys-style tune about indoor surfing in Japan (yes, the place is called Wild Blue, and yes, it really exists!) The title track, 'Mystery Spot' might just be about a tourist trap, but it could also say something about the unexplainable nature of life and love. In fact, these are all great tunes, all unique. Listen to 'Postcard from the Mystery Spot', and you'll agree.
