Growing up in Cajun country, there was no shortage of music. Donny's love for music grew from his youth or evolving, as he would say, " I learned early on that I could use music to circumvent negativity and literally change the atmosphere I was in". Donny isn't shy about his philosophy saying " there's power in music, it has this amazing ability to change moods and literally turn emotions another direction". Continuing, "simply put music is the only form of communication that has the ability to bypass the mind and go directly to the soul" Beginning around 1995, Donny began playing guitar but didn't do much writing till 1997. Starting with primarily country style Donny gigged in country bars and pubs till 1998 when his interest and music style changed to more progressive/pop rock. In 1998 Donny started a band named Plunj pronounced, (plunge) and toured extensively in Florida and southeast US. Headlining many festivals and youth rallies such as True Love Waits. Plunj also opened for likes of The Waiting, Matt Redmond Band and many others. The members of that band grew apart which lead Donny to pursue his first solo project in 2004. This first album was an eclectic mix of songs demonstrating his diversity in writing as well as his music/vocal ability. Upon completion of the album he began traveling, performing at an array of shows/festivals from Seattle to New York. Donny to date has opened for several great artists including Tree63, Casting Crowns. Currently, Donny's working on a new project that He hopes will be out in early 2010.
