River of Emotions
Dr. Klee's journey began when as a young boy in Tampa, Florida, at the tender age of 10 he discovered the beauty of the flute. Almost immediately, an almost magical bond began between him and the flute. Even as a young boy, he somehow knew that this was the beginning of a long journey in which he would never be the same again. This journey carried him into a lifelong endeavor to study and master the flute, which culminated in a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Georgia. Along the way, he learned jazz by performing in clubs in over 37 states, cruise ships, and as a staff flutist for several leading recording studios in the Southeast United States. Dr. Klee is currently Director of Jazz Studies and Assistant Professor of Woodwinds at a university in the Midwest. He has been on the music faculty at universities in Georgia, Nebraska and Iowa. His classical background gives him tremendous technique and quality of sound. His jazz training gives him the ability to be creative, lyrical...almost vocal-like in character. Now Dr. Klee would like to share his unique background of classical/jazz style by forging his own very personal blend of light jazz/New Age music.
