Wilderness of the Spirit
Dubbed the 'one-man jam band', Drew Laird is a solo acoustic musician currently living in Kona, Hawaii. His music is acoustic rock, with flavors of alternative, ambient, neo-psychedelia, New Age and Native American music. He uses a Boss Loop Station effects pedal, allowing him to layer guitar, shaker, ashiko, talking drum, 5-string bass, vocals and Native American cedar flute. A song may have two bass lines, and a half-dozen different guitar riffs and harmonic notes that wash over the listener in mesmerizing waves of sound. Drew will release his new CD, entitled Wilderness of the Spirit, in February 2004. His first CD is entitled Sex, Love and the Art of Dreaming. It was released at the dawn of the new millennia, January 2000.
