Shake It Overload
Dropping Amy is a band that started in the beginning of 2007. Their drummer Magnus needed a band to record for his final project in the RAP program at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. He got together with two of his friends, the guitar players Gustav and Simon (from The Lunatones) to write some songs to record. A few weeks before the project was due they still needed lyrics and a singer. They turned to their good friend Dusty Watson (drummer for Slacktone and Agent Orange) who also write lyrics and sing. Fortunately he had some lyrics that suited the songs, so one week before deadline they finally got vocals recorded too. And their 3 song EP 'Shake It Overload' was born... At the same time 'Shake It Overload' was done, Gustav and Simon finished school and had to move back to Sweden. About a year passed and now all of them are back in Sweden, still driven to continue the band. In the beginning of 2008 they called up their former bass player Kristoffer (from The Lunatones) and asked him to join the band. All members live in different parts of Sweden, but write and work on songs individually. And in May -08 they all got together to start the recording of a new album. During the summer and fall they worked on lyrics, vocals and more material to record. They plan to release their new album sometime during the spring/summer 2009. Dropping Amy's goal for 2009 is to release, market and promote their new album and go on tour in Sweden, Europe and the United States. Today Dropping Amy consists of Magnus Andersson - Drums, Kristoffer Högberg - Bass, Simon Palmér - Guitar and Gustav Wilhelmsson - Guitar. On the new recording the vocals might be done by Kristoffer.
