Earleybird carries on his tradition of bringing quality and quantity with this album. Aye Papi!! is strictly an adults only album, as many of the songs depict graphic sexual ideas. Features include D-VO, K-BETA, 57 and introducing FUTURE BIRTH. The beats range from funky club bangers to meditative soul stirrers, and the subject matter at hand is mostly adult oriented, but Earleybird still manages to delve into deeper topics than sex with the spine chilling song 'Psych Ward' which entails his visit to the psych ward halfway through completion of this album. Diagnosed as Manic Depressive/Bi-polar in 2001, a majority of the songs were written during a period where Earleybird was off of his medication, however, after his visit to the Psych Ward, he returned and dropped somber songs like 'Won Peace' and '44th Psalm'. Earleybird is responsible for the entire production of the album, save for the final two bonus tracks, and he produced it entirely in a obsolete wave editing program called Soundedit 14 on a nine year old Macintosh computer. Cleverly mixing obscure samples and taking single notes from preexisting songs and altering the pitch to create other notes, Earleybird masterfully creates an even sonic mood. Lyrically, he turns in one of his most clever performances to date, paying special attention to his cadence and how he rides the beats. A must have for the Earleybird collection and a good starting point for anyone new to his music.
