The Ease has been described as hard ambient pop with mainstream sensibilities. They have been compared to David Bowie, Coldplay, and The Cure. Although 'officially' forming in May 2003, The Ease 'unofficially' began in September 2002 when longtime collaborators Luke Sheets and Chad Morgan combined with Brandon McDonald to undertake the Stamina Tour (60 shows in 30 days, spanning 22 states in an attempt to raise awareness of Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome). While on the road they played clubs, colleges, coffeehouses, hospitals, and the occasional homecoming parade. Upon returning home, Justin Benner was added to the lineup.
