Roses & Memories
Roses & Memories is the result of many years of writing, performing and leading music, showcasing outstanding session musicians in this (almost) all-acoustic collection. Four of the songs were written by noted Arkansas storyteller/songwriter Charley Sandage (Ed added melody to 'Sweet Delta Land'). Six songs are Ed's. He was raised on a farm in Arkansas, listening to AM radio at night, especially WLAC-Nashville. His experiences included some formal vocal study and music performances in college and afterwards, but mostly Ed sang whatever struck his fancy, from Broadway to bluegrass. The honesty of Ed's music is one of it's greatest strengths. We believe you will enjoy the melodies and sometimes-autobiographical lyrics. Ed is a retired professor and department head, living more than two decades in northeast Louisiana with his wife, Pat. Pat and Ed are parents of three and grandparents to nine, all of whom live nearby, so there's a houseful on holidays. He regularly leads worship at his church and in the Kairos Prison Ministry.
