You Are Released
You Are Released is Eldridge Rodriguez's 10th studio album, 6 with his band The Beatings, 4 solo. Like his 3 previous solo albums, You Are Released was recorded with Ray Jeffrey and continues his tradition of deconstructionist pop, this time around relying heavily on beats, loops, post-punk arrangements and noisy orchestration. On You Are Released, Rodriguez (whose real name is Cameron Keiber) explores classic themes such as man vs. nature, entitlement vs. theft, willful ignorance, aggressive stupidity, birth vs. acknowledging mortality, isolation, forgiveness and redemption all in a smart mouthed, intelligent, sometimes vulgar and irreverent way. Eldridge Rodriguez's previous solo full-length album and Ep's charted respectably on many internet and college radio station's charts upon it's release; most notably, as high as #5 on 3WK.com, #1 add at WPVM, #6 at WSRU, and #19 at NYU. Eldridge Rodriguez is also the co-front man and founder of Boston, Ma's The Beatings. He formed the band over a decade ago and continues to play and write with the band. You Are Released was written and recorded between and during sessions for The Beatings' Late Season Kids album. You Are Released features performances by members of Wheat as well as a duet with Sarah Borges. Eldridge Rodriguez lives in Boston, MA.
