Elvis Nagel and Smith are a team of three. Songriters, producers, engineers and musicians all. After pursuing performing careers for the past twenty years or so, they now own 'River Rock Recording' in Clackamas, Oregon. Elvis Nagel and Smith write songs about their jobs, neighborhoods, personal feelings and some are just for fun. To squeeze their songwriting style into a catagory, it would be Adult Contemporary with a twist. It has been referred to as 'New Classic'. Elvis Nagel is the main singer and is also a fun entertainer. Elvis cowrites many of the songs on the new (2005) Elvis Nagel and Smith CD, 'All In'. Artists which have been an influence on Elvis include Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Elvis Presley, Gene Krupa and the Funk Brothers. Tom Smith is an excellent guitar player and a very creative writer. Tom wrote many of the songs on 'All In'. With his Southern California roots, his influences include Love, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and of course the Beatles, Eagles and Stones. Phil Smith plays most of the instruments for Elvis Nagel and Smith. In fact, Phil plays all of the instruments on 'All In'. You can hear flavors of his favorite artists such as Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Carlos Santana, Billy Gibbons and Don Henley as you browse the new CD. Phil has opened shows for Pat Benetar, Blue Oyster Cult, Rory Gallagher and other established acts. Phil also cowrote 'Don't Stop Now' recorded by Vanilla Fudge, which is on the album 'Mystery' on the Atco label. The goal of Elvis Nagel and Smith is to continue to write and record our music, get it to people like you where we hope that one or more of our 'babies' will be recognized as a great song.
