Product Notes

The Erftones are from Albany, NY. The Erftones play music under the direction of Jonathan Cohen. There are 6 Erftones now, with more in hiding. They play funk/fusion/lunch music. They play music without words. Mostly. They encourage you to make up your own dances to do for them. The Erftones use only 100% certified organic musical materials. The Erftones use only Apple Computers. The Lunch Factor, under the direction of CaptX, taught jc the ancient art of Erf. They put the erf in performance! The primary goal of the Erftones is to provide it's musicians with an opportunity unavailable in most other playing situations, both live and in the studio; an environment where stylistic and financial restrictions hold little influence. And to challenge them musically in ways that defy the day to day demands of their jobs in other bands. The secondary goal is to provide spectators who are jaded enough to want to watch this happen the time place to do so, or the CD's to listen to in the sanctity of their homes. Conversely, we wish to drive the weak of heart out of their bar seats and from in front of their tv's, and to question all that they thought of as sensible and true of music and life.
