I Still Believe
"I come from Harlingen, Texas. I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and belong to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. The Lord has blessed me with a great family as well as the gift of music. My sister Libby is the female voice you hear on these songs and was the inspiration for "Drift Away". That song is about the feelings that I see when we sing to the Lord during 9 O'clock mass. Music has always been an outlet for my frustrations, sadness, joy, and any other emotions that overcome my life. I have only been playing the guitar for a short while but after a life changing conversion I stopped playing for myself and started playing for the Lord. The funny thing about me is that I don't wish to be famous or make millions of dollars because I was raised with love from a tight nit family with humble beginnings. My dream is that the music the Lord asks me to write and create will help people of all ages overcome the struggles of everyday life, pressures of the world, and look past failure to see that there is always hope. Singing opens up the soul but when you sing to God it also opens up your eyes to see and feel true love and joy. Every day interactions with all types of people allows me to witness the face of Christ in everyone. This includes the various ministries I am actively apart of throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Inspiration for my music comes as the Lord gives it to me but I can say that the style is eclectic and mirrors the music that I grew up listening to. My music ranges from sounds of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, even Bob Marley to Los lonely boys, Maroon 5, and Bruce Springstein. There are so many more artists that enlighten my ears both Christian and alternative but there is not enough time to go through the list, that's why I let the music speak for itself and ask other people what they think it sounds like. Although I had aspirations of becoming a doctor music has always been my passion and I feel the Lord is asking me to spread some "Good News" through melodic toe-tapping songs. The rest I leave up to you to find out. Thank you for taking the time to consider my music I hope you like it because I wrote it for you! God Bless." Eric Paul.
