Free Moral Agent (Raw)
Erich Mace is the singer/songwriter behind Acoustic Empowerment. From an early age, the Reading, PA native was exposed to the sounds of 60's and 70's rock and roll through his father, an amateur musician. Erich's first stage appearance had already occurred by the age of 3, as he and other children would dance and place toy instruments with his father's band. Erich recalls writing tunes and jingles for even the most mundane aspects of life, "Brushing my teeth, washing my face...yeah I could have made an album promoting personal hygiene." He began publicly performing in Pittsburgh in 2005, and his confidence grew as he explored the Pittsburgh music scene. These days Erich is devoting himself to empowerment people through the music he writes, appearing at venues in the Mid-Atlantic region. Erich's music has landed him on some great stages thus far including The North Star Bar, Milkboy Coffee, World Café Live (Philadelphia), Arlene's Grocery, and Kenny's Castaways (New York), as well as numerous Christian retreats and community events. Late June 2007 saw Erich gaining momentum as he was awarded "People's Choice" at the Emergenza 2007 Philadelphia Acoustic Hero Contest, and later that year, "One Day Won" was chosen for Quickstar Productions "Chill Out"-an acoustic compilation featuring East Coast artists currently in digital distribution. In 2008, Berklee grad Christian Matthew came into the mix, playing acoustic slide guitar with Erich and adding an additional layer of intricacy and earthiness to the music. August 2008 saw them elected to take part in the Philly Song Shuffle, a 3 hour event showcasing Philadelphia's finest singer/songwriters.
