Everwhile are: Carey Ford (Vocals and keyboards) Jeff Gay (Guitars, guitar synths, bass and vocals) Gilly Ralph (Keyboards and vocals) Ian Lucas (Drums) Richard Holford (Bass guitar, guitars) The band formed in the Spring of 2005. Following the demise of their previous band Jeff and Gilly were in search of musical collaborators for a new (undefined) venture. By a happy chance an old friend and a social networking site had put Jeff back in touch with Carey, a singer songwriter he'd played with in the late 70s and then lost touch with for 25 years. Meanwhile Ian, an experienced drummer in search of a new venture, accepted the invitation to join and see what happened. Writing and rehearsal commenced as a four piece. There were no preconceived ideas about what this band was going to sounds like, but a sound emerged, with elements of folk, jazz, symphonic prog, metal, pop & country. Old songs were dusted off and new ones emerged. Much of the band's self-produced first album 'everwhile' was recorded with this line up. Richard joined in 2006, initially on bass guitar and the album was completed. The second album 'Otherwise' features a set of songs written between 2006/7 and features more acoustic instruments and a wider range of styles, with Richard now also playing acoustic, electric and lap steel guitar, Jeff adding 12 string, bouzouki and the odd blast of virtual trumpet (thanks to guitar synth technology) The band is based in southern England and are writing and rehearsing materials for a third album.
