Quarter to Never
The First Stone is an eclectic culmination of working-class musicians based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Their sound is best described indie-folk-rock infused with funk. The First STone is led by front man Brian Kelly on guitar and vocals. Brian has spent time in Chattanooga, TN., Athens, and Augusta, GA as a solo artist and with other full band projects (Drive South, Tony Kick). Dave "Danger" Baranik keeps the groove alive on bass while Aubrey Bailey balances it all out on percussion and drums. Dave has played with bands such as Swoon 19 and The Funktron Bomb. Aubrey's musical past includes bands such as Bound and Great White Dolemite. Guitar player Nate Kieser hails from Peoria, IL and has performed all across the country. He brings unique guitar riffs and a killer sound to the band. TFS officially formed in early 2008 and after contemplating what they should do for a practice space; they compromised and built the "home office studio" in Brian's garage. From there it's history; after recording their first EP in the "office studio" with Atlanta Live Recording, the band got off to a great start with it's first gig at one of Atlanta's classic music venues "The Red Light Cafe." From there, shows piled up and their SouthEastern US tour brought them many new fans and true ones who all wanted the "real" album. After months of writing songs and rehearsing, The First Stone recorded their first first full length album at Southern Tracks Studios in Atlanta, GA in the fall of 2008 with producer Stephen Morrison. Southern Tracks is the premier studio in the SouthEastern US with recording artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Faith Hill, Sugarland, and Incubus recording and producing their albums in recent years. Previous years, you could have heard artists such as Aretha Franklin, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, & The Temptations. Two months worth of studio time at Southern Tracks studio provided ample time to release their new album "Quarter To Never" which is now available through their website and various online retailers. Their hit song "Walking Away" is gaining airplay at college campus nationally and available as an mp3 download free of charge through their website. The First Stone continues to hit milestones opening up for national acts such as Nicholas Megalis, Grand Prize Winners From Last Year, Sonnen, and Jason Lyles & The Sonic Avatars. Keep your ears wide open for this great new band The First Stone.
