The Flying Dutchmen is a San Francisco-based band that originally existed from 1991 to 1997. After a personnel change, the band became The Holdouts. The second Dutchmen CD was released as Moon Over Bolinas By The Holdouts on Taxim Records and received a favorable review from the German version of Rolling Stone magazine. The Dutchmen were dormant until 2001 when original members decided to record (sporadically) again. The recording project was completed in 2007 and the new CD, The Other Side, is now available. The disc sounds like a collaboration between Steve Earle, Los Lobos and the Ventures as produced by Ennio Morriconne. This is music to listen to while driving from the dry flatlands of Central California to a remote bucolic surf spot in Northern California.
