Songwriter/artist Franco Mayo is a byproduct of a Latin expression whose time has come... Francisco Mayorga (his real name), was born in New Haven, Connecticut USA. However, for most of his life he grew up in Managua, Nicaragua where he had the chance to absorb the influences of both Latin music and American Pop. Franco's interest in the arts was obvious from the time he could talk. There are even recordings of Franco's singing for an audience when he was barely two years of age! Today, after years of hard work, determination, rehearsals, hundreds of performances in the quest to be the next great talent to come out from Central America, Franco is ready to follow in the footsteps of Luis Enrique (Prince of Salsa) and Ernaldo Zuniga, two of the most famous international artists to have come out from his country. Through his visionary drive to never astray from his ultimate destiny, Franco took his fate into his own hands and produced about thirty songs from his little and insignificant home studio with the aid of Edgard Orochena, his long time vocal professor and his friends Luis Betanco and Diego Jinkus, an emerging local sound engineer whose unique arrangements and productions have been compared with such reputable producers as Phil Ramone, Gustavo Santaolalla and Quincy Jones. The songs provided with this short Biography serve as a small sample of Franco's work and achievements to date. His best songs are yet to be recorded.
