I was born in Kingston Jamaica in the year 1968 to Veronica Hyatt and Clarence Battiste. Both of my parents were music lovers. I would go to dance halls or party with my mother to listen music from Pappa Michigan and Smiley as well as Dillinger ('One Dread Two Dread), Trinity (Gal a whey mi do yu mek yu lef mi), Bob Marley,...you get the message. I grew up on lots of classic Reggae Music. My dad's favorite was Uroy. He would play and sing to them while dancing. It was fun being a kid back then. The world was definitely innocent and different. Anyway, I was exposed to thrills of Reggae music by both of my parent. However, my interest wasn't sparked until I was in Junior High School; by this time I was here in the United States. My classmates (friends) and I used to sit together during lunch/break, and we would sing and chant reggae lyrics from some of our favorite artists (Yellow man, Johnny Ringo, Jose Whales, Brigadier Gerry, Michigan & Smiley, and a host of others from back then). It was then when I realized how much I love this rich sounding music, and would like to one day be a part of it through being an artis myself as well as being a producer. In High and college knew I wanted to be a major player in the Reggae World. During and after college I starting acquiring instruments and equipments to build my studio. By 2001 I had most of the equipments I needed to establish. I opened a studio (Rhythm Palace Studio) in the Sound View Section of the Bronx and ran it for about 1 year. Eventually the studio was moved to the Northeast section of the Bronx. I hooked up with several individuals who had similar aspirations and put together some sounds and lyrics, and we are now ready to hit the road.
