'During the early and mid sixties The Gents honed their skills, often working six nights a week. By the summer of '66 when these recordings were made the band was tight and ready. Underage and risking my parents wrath, I snuck in The Sark to hear them perform live. The sound was full and rich. The smoke was thick, the excitement was real, and the music loud. Vocalist, Big Al 'K' was center stage, with and Jim and the band smokin' behind him. Let's go there again.....' Gary Gordon, 2005 This is heartfelt rythm and blues, from the sixties. Features kickin' horn section, Hammond organ, Fender Bass and guitar thru tube amps and soulful drums. Recorded in St. Louis, Missouri summer of '66 then meticuously transferred from the origional 4track master tape, digitaly mixed and mastered. A wonderful historic release of The Gents in their prime.
