Art of Early Egyption Qanun 2
This is a historical recording of Middle Eastern music on a reconstructed qanun (Egyptian psaltery) and percussion instruments using fish and goad skin. The aim is to recreate as authentically as possible the sound of a bygone era, that is, 17th- to early 20th-century instrumental music. 'A landmark in historical recording.' Dr. Eckhard Neubaeur, Institute for the History of Arabic-Islamic Science, J. W. Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany 'Dr. Sawa's music takes me back in time to when recordings were sensible.
