Christ the One
The Good News Choir Biography The Good News Choir started back in August 6, 1986 with just 8 members. Today, we are over a 30-member choir. The choir is composed of children, teens and adults. We have come a long way, but through it all, our most faithful member has been the Lord Jesus Christ, without whom we would not be where we are today. Thank God for His anointing! We are a full ministry, not only in song, but in drama and pantomime. We have done several original plays, like Despierta (Awaken), The Good/Bad Pastor, The Burdens, A Christmas Story, The Story of Jesus, and the up and coming "Judgment Day" just to name a few. In 1993 we participated in the McDonald's Gospelfest. We competed in the preliminaries against over 25 choirs and won. Although we did not win the finals, it was a great experience for us. We have performed in churches all over the Metropolitan area. We have toured in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Connecticut. We have received invitations to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Florida and Mexico, where we look forward to going. We have also performed in weddings and birthdays. We have participated in open tent meetings. We have performed for audiences on cable TV and through it all we have seen the power of God working in a mighty way. Our mission and desire has always been to reach souls for Christ by preaching the word of God through song, drama or pantomime. We are a bilingual choir with diversity in our music. Our CD "Christ the One" is for everyone. We have a variety of music that appeals to a diverse audience. Several of the songs were written by our Choir Director and Co-Pastor Rev. Damaris Torres. Our CD is dedicated to the memory of Reverend, Josephine De La Rosa, the first Pastor and Founder of our church, Christian Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Inc., who went on to be with the Lord in April, 2002.
