Dos Orillas (Two Shores), is the product of a collective effort by California's Flamenco community spanning from Nevada City to San Diego. This recording has attempted to preserve the spontaneity and improvisational quality of Flamenco while adding a complementary sprinkling of modern elements including bass, percussion, chorus vocals, and cello. On this album the talent Pilar Moreno of Malaga, Spain joins Gopal. Pilar came to America in 1972 and has since been residing in San Diego. She has toured the nation and the world as an accomplished Flamenco singer. Pilar is a well-known and respected member of the international Flamenco community; Dos Orillas is her debut recording. Joining Gopal and Pilar for the performance will be John Martin III and Frank Giordano of San Diego's Cerro Negro. John Martin III, producer, and master percussionist blends palmas, Cajon, and vocals. Frank Giordano, flamenco dancer Drea Pacot, and La Leta accompanies with Palmas and Jaleo.
