Lift Him Up
Just as in the Bible Matthew, Mark, Luke and John comprise the harmonies of the Gospel; David, Ivan, Wayne and Ronald make-up Gospel Harmony. Gospel Harmony came into existence in 1997 that brought together two Rhythm and Blues singing groups (Jersey Love and Electric Smoke) from the Central Jersey area. While being members of these two Rhythm and Blues groups they sang throughout the Tri-State area performing and singing in the secular arena. Thank God, one day they were all touched by the Holy Spirit and Jesus became the center of their lives. A change began to happen and the singing gift that God had blessed them with became dedicated to reaching souls for Christ. Now as a contemporary gospel group they minister in song in a style that is a mixture of R&B and old time gospel. Their praises unto the Lord truly manifest in their singing that will touch the inner man. The members of Gospel Harmony consist of Bros. Ivan McDaniel, David Jackson, Wayne Brooks and Ronald Smalls. Bro. Ivan, a native of Montclair, NJ sings 1st and 2nd tenor and bass, and Bro. David who hails from East Orange, NJ sings 1st and 2nd tenor and contributes his song writing, management and production capabilities. Both Bros. Ivan (Deacon) and David (studying for Ministry) fellowship at Mount Olive Baptist Church E.O.N.J where Rev. Michael Jordan. Is Pastor. They have gone through many trials and tribulations in their lives, but are still holding on to God's unchanging hand. Bro. Wayne sings 1st & 2nd tenor and baritone and contributes through his managing, song writing and production gifts as well. Wayne is a native of Newark, NJ, worships & teaches at Union Baptist Church, Bloomfield, NJ where Rev. J. J. Thomason is Pastor. Though residing in Newark can be a constant struggle, Wayne encourages himself through Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Bro. Ronald Smalls is a native of South Carolina and grew up in Newark, NJ. Ronald is a member of Fountain Baptist Church where Rev. Jerry Sanders is Pastor. Gospel Harmony has performed at various functions such as NJ Pac, and the McDonald's Gospel Fest as well as charities like The American Heart Association, the homeless and many children organizations. They have performed in many gospel programs like Big Splash and a number of church functions throughout the Tri-State area. In addition to singing for the Lord the Gospel Harmony members are very dedicated to their churches where they serve the Lord in many capacities. Some are deacons and are studying to become ministers of the Gospel. Gospel Harmony sings under the umbrella of Inventive Music and their mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus to all that will receive it and pray for those who won't.
