I watched an old jazz clip with John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Man, they were jammin together so good. It was like the left hand (John) and the right (Miles) each doing their thing, but so much together. It was a super jam session, but without the sheet music. Fascinated the way they flowed, I listened not only with my ears, I closed my eyes and listened with my inner mind. How do they know what notes to play? The off-beat, the way they change tempo, how do they know when to do that? This process takes years of training. And by no way am I trying to duplicate it. I set out to just jam, nothing like them though, just play what ever comes out. So here is, 'A New Beginning', it's a jam...old school, fast, funky and definitely from the heart. You may, at times, hear something that might sound like Miles Davis, it's not, you may heard a little 'trane. All in all, maybe mot my best effort to date, though I'm always striving to improve. Enjoy.
