Growing Up in Kansas
Grandpa's .38 is not about firearms. It's about inheritance; things handed down from one generation to the next. This eclectic blend of old and new music combines a love of traditional musical forms with lyrics reflecting the fabric of life in Kansas, where life is made up of cultural inheritance pressed on all sides by modernity. From 2000 to 2004, Tom Page and Patrick McElmurry performed under the name Grandpa's .38, traveling the country performing and distributing over 3,000 CD's of their guitar duet. Their combined talents showcase a blend of finger and flat-pick styles, played on two Taylor flattop guitars, producing timeless American roots music. Since Patrick's death in 2005, Tom has been busy expanding that original vision and producing a new CD release. Currently Tom is performing with a variety of musicians in various line ups and is producing/recording CDs for musicians of nearly every musical style.
