Destined for Ascension
Grave Forsaken is a heavy thrash band with influences from all kinds of classic metal styles. Formed in 2004, the Warriors of Light are now celebrating a solid 3-year history. In 2005, Grave Forsaken recorded a demo EP (self-titled), which was released independently to a welcoming audience. The early death metal influences seen on the EP soon began to take on a sharper sound as the band played a number of local gigs and wrote new material. In 2006, the album 'Beside The River Of Blood' was released, having been signed to Rowe Productions even before it was completed. Tracks such as 'Buried Alive' and 'Harder To Hate' featured on the album, receiving high praise from both fans and critics. The band have made it clear that they're not only a thrash band, also venturing into death and doom metal territory with tracks like 'Tribulation Cometh' and 'The Celebrity Judge And The Sinners, Part I.' In 2007, Grave Forsaken appeared in Heaven's Metal Magazine, receiving a rave review for 'Beside The River Of Blood.' The band also established a fan club known as the 'Grave Forsaken Mosher Crew' (now with a dedicated MySpace page). Later, GF teamed up with a new producer and recorded their first single (also on Rowe Productions), entitled 'Horror and Sadness.' This departure from the typical approach of most Australian metal acts (in releasing a collectible single) has helped to mark Grave Forsaken as a unique entity on the market and a serious contender in the metal scene worldwide. The band also established themselves as a touring band, having already completed two trips to Australia's east coast. The last tour co-incided with the launch of the 'Horror and Sadness' single and also welcomed in the newest addition to the band, Scourged Flesh drummer Dave Kilgallon. 2008 will see Grave Forsaken moving from strength to strength, with the release of 'Destined For Ascension' and the commencement of a new series of shows and recordings. New material is being written right now for a third album, and new merch is on the way as well. Rest assured, folks - Grave Forsaken is here to stay.
