Haluciagea (Ha-loo-see-a-gee-a) is a two-piece breakbeat/electronica act based in the Manawatu. Formed by Liam Cody and Tracey-Lynne Cody in 2004, Haluciagea is rock-inspired electronica/drum n bass described by one reviewer as, "Portishead meets NIN". Both members bring to Haluciagea an extensive background in music and performing arts. Strong vocal melodies and song structures tighter than traditionally found in electronica/drum n bass are a defining feature of the Haluciagean sound. Haluciagea's live show incorporates projected images, complementing themes/mood of their material. Rather than randomly selected by a VJ, crafted visual images accompany each Haluciagean track providing a more intense, cerebral multimedia experience for the audience. In conjunction with electronic artists Emu and DJ Romantech's Short Circuit 2.5 Tour, Haluciagea released their 6-track EP "Visceral" on independent label, Dodgy Records in July. Haluciagea continues to receive great support from local B-net Station, Radio Control 99.4FM. Latest single "What you think you know" featured in the Top Eleven for five weeks, peaking at Number Two. Haluciagea are committed to developing their unique brand of Kiwi electronica - a labour of love - that allows them to draw on their considerable experience in rock, jazz & theatre and find a new range of expression within this genre.
