Hans Raubenheimer was born and raised in the Free State, South Africa. With limited musical training It was only on his travels through the United Kingdom after investing in a folk size acoustic guitar and by means of the internet learning songs by the likes of Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley that the creative juices really started flowing. He wrote his first song in 2000 and since then as Sting put it many children have been raised and his maternal instincts have kicked in, drawing influence from guys like Jack Johnson, Dave Matthew's, John Mayer and many more his melodic rich and fresh clean sound combined with mature poetic lyrics grounded in his Christian Faith is set to be a recipe for success. In 2004 the Duo "Box" was formed with Ryan Gardener in Cape Town but short lived when the newly wed Ryan left for the USA deciding that his wife's country could hold better opportunities, leaving behind a six track EP and an Inspired partner. In 2007 his debut self titled album was released consisting of 11 acoustic driven folk/rock tracks with simple yet effective production. In 2008 a live DVD/CD was produced capturing an intimate evening, accompanied by Carl Kingsley on the Cello and Matthew Johnson on the Piano and back-up vocals. 2009 will see the release of his second studio album "Just Believe" with big production and amazing songs it promises to be one for the history books. Comments "Ever since I can remember there's been a melody or rhythm in my head and some arbitrary words soon to follow, even as a young kid consumed and distracted by my own imagination, now finally I have a medium to convert those meaningless snippets into mindful creations." "'Shake off your tears... go find your smile and put it on.' Gentle words of understanding and encouragement in this beautiful song." "A searcher with some profound thoughts, often angst-ridden. Threaded in with his powerful voice and strong guitar playing are notions of having missed something, forgotten moments lost, something in the wind changing." "A quiet vocal that draws you in, blended with a well balanced musical combo. Check it out." "Ooh. Even I can understand these lyrics. I like it :-)"
