The Haymakers are two proclaimed hip hop souls smashing through the south with a zinger. Their real names are Clemmie P. Long and Maurice L. Hobbs. They are better known under the aliases of FATBOY & NEFARIZ. Together this hyped-up duo is big and wicked. Their elastic groove is best stretched out on their first album 'POP THE TRUNK,' which was released May 11. 2004, and now even more so on their second; most recent project 'MOST WANTED,' which was released April 26, 2005. They are long time locals of CLARKSVILLE, TN, and also considered best friends. In 2001 while working in a local call center these two fellows discovered that they had a gift that could get them paid along with two other co-workers, so they began to take action in a local studio. Clemmie better know as Trey has always had a Jones for music at an early age still continuing to sing in his churches choir, and Maurice better known as Lorenzo has been writing rhymes since the 8th grade. They believe that it was predestine that they were finally able to create a formula to carry out their passion for music. FATBOY & NEFARIZ compliment one another's style like a chain and charm. A HAYMAKER is a hard punch that renders the opponent unable to continue. This is what they like to refer to as their 'Lyrical Blow to the Dome.' FATBOY is more like the fist, and NEFARIZ is better described as the powerful blow that the fist holds. They both share the same goal of getting rich in the music industry together. They formed this double act in order to erase creative differences with once group THE MISALLIANCE SQADRON, which you might here them make references to as MSQ. The Haymakers are often inspired by existing duos such as EIGHTBALL & MJG, and OUTKAST. Other solo artist that hold their interest would include LUDACRIS, T.I., KANYE WEST, JAY-Z, LIL JON, TOO SHORT, ICE CUBE, DR. DRE, and EMINEM. Locally this vivacious duo is popular for heating up shows by creating a vicious circle to burn up the competition. Their performances really show you what it's like to be infatuated with the rap game.
