I'm Beginning to See the Light
Heather Doré Heather's first vocal influences were Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra. She loved the sounds of the 'Crooners'. As she grew older, she was enthralled by the female voices of Joe Stafford, Peggy Lee, and Judy Garland. She enjoyed the simple melodies, the meaningful lyrics, and the purity of the vocals. Her thirst for the musical arts expanded not only to singing, but studying piano and flute. Added to that was dance - ballroom, swing, jive, and tap. She began performing in, as well as directing, community theatre and musicals, and performing with Big Bands. One of her favourite pastimes was dancing the night away at Club 'BaBalu' in Vancouver, to see one of her favourite entertainers, Michael Bublé. She loved dressing up in evening gowns and dancing the nights away to Michael's fabulous voice. Not only did Michael sing the music that she loved, he was young and made it exciting for all ages to listen to. He breathed new life into an old genre of music...the music that had always meant so much to her.
