This is a CD with a 19th century mood! Performances in Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States have inspired audiences to take a step back in time with pianist Helen Beedle. Featuring piano, this CD also highlights cornettist Jari Villanueva and vocalist Jonathan Beedle. Helen Beedle's new release, '19th Century Salon and Concert Music' reflects the unmistakable varied taste of Civil War America. Imagine a musical evening in a salon where concert waltzes, beautiful ballads and grand pieces of an era gone by take you back in time. Helen Beedle has performed for the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, and been the featured artist on PBS radio special concerts. She is an Associate member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Ms. Beedle has been heard at numerous conferences, college concert series and festivals. Her recordings have had excellent reviews and are currently on sale in National Park bookstores and museums throughout the country. The music has been used as a sound track for several educational Civil War CD-ROM projects. Helen Beedle completed her Master of Music degree in piano at the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Massachusetts. She has studied with celebrated pianists Walter Hautzig, Russell Sherman and Theodore Lettvin and presently is on the Music Faculty at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.
