Ifari (Robert Carroll) grew up in a country side village call Plaisance in the Country of Guyana. Raise with the love and guidance of his grand parents, he learned at an early age his father was a musician, music teacher and player of many instruments. As he grew older and sought after his father he found out his grand father was also a music teacher and player of many instruments. What a discovery this was to him it sealed his direction in the music industry. Ifari has since written many songs and worked with many musicans, proformed as well with many artist and over the years gained his comfort in this profession. As it has been stated by the CONTRAST News Paper out of Canada in it's February 15, 1990 commentary about Ifari (Robert Carroll), the writer classified him as a genius of a poet and songwriter and indeed he is.
