Ames is the creator of the Magic Meditations Workshops series and is the voice on the CDs. Ina has taught relaxation and meditation and personal growth courses, as well as provided individual coaching, since the early 1980's. Ina's career has been varied. She's a communication professor as well as an intuitive psychic and healer and a business owner. About the Mastering Fear CD: The Mastering Fear CD is both a Relaxation and Meditation CD and a personal growth workshop that has you learn to be powerful in the face of fears, distinguish which fears you want to keep and which you want to dissolve and then dissolve them - offering guided meditations and exercises with background music. This CD has you master your fears through identifying your fears, differentiating between the fears you want to dissolve and the fears you want to keep and developing two major methods of dissolving fears. Purpose: *The purpose of this workshop is for you to master fear so that you can identify and dissolve the fears that do not serve you in your life. Mastery and Power: *The intended results of this CD are for you to experience mastering your fears and therefore feel free to be more adventurous and playful. You're going to begin to master fear and then, with practice, learn to master having the fears in your life promote growth, development and power. You'll be able to dissolve fears that limit you through guided meditations, including the Mastering Fear ability room guided meditation and the Dissolving doubt/fear guided meditation. *You'll be able to understand the nature of fear and be able to distinguish between real and perceived threat. * The guided meditations will enable you to distinguish the fears that limit you from the fears those that support you. *The more you practice dissolving fear, the more you become aware of your growing mastery over choosing which fears to retain and which fears to dissolve. Hints: *Practicing mastering fear through the Ability Room Mastering Fear Guided Meditation and the Dissolving Doubt/Fear guided meditation allows you to dissolve any fears that stop you: anywhere, any time. *You're the author of your fears. You created them - and by understanding the nature of the fears you chose, you can dissolve them. *Perceived threats and real threats are typically blended in our minds. Begin to realize that most fears you have are perceived threats. They feel the same as real threats and, therefore, control you. Knowing how to distinguish the real from the perceived threats empowers you to master your fears and make new choices. *The introduction is on a track by itself. When you've gotten the full value of the introduction, you can skip it. But occasionally go back and listen to it again. You may hear something anew. *Don't worry if you fall asleep while listening during the night. Each CD in the series features relaxation and meditation exercises plus guided meditations that will alter your relationship to happiness, help you better use the planet's infinite resources, provide the tools you need to create what you want in your life, expand your understanding and development of intuition and help you masterfully deal with fear. The Magic Meditations Workshops series will dramatically impact these areas of your life for the better. Each of the workshops has been created and abridged from live workshops and individual coaching that I've provided in the Greater Boston area and around the country for more than a quarter century. Most of the original workshops are four to six hours in length. The Workshops in the CDs address very special areas of your life. Because the workshops offered here are recorded, you can listen to them whenever you want, wherever you are to create both relaxation and meditation and transformation in your life. Each CD also contains the short length version of Relaxation and Meditation plus previews of all the CDs in this series. Where did this series originate? The idea for these CD's were came from participants in an Accessing your Intuition Workshop in Ohio in the 1980s. Delighted with that session, the participants wanted more and requested I record all my workshops so people everywhere could experience the joy, relaxation and freedom they provide without having to leave their home. I liked that idea, so I made these CD's. I originally recorded the Relaxation and Meditation CD in this series on cassette in the 80's when the students in my college-level acting class asked me to record the relaxation and guided meditations I'd used as a warm up to rehearsals. I'd used my relaxation and meditation exercises to help them relax and be more mentally supple when performing. Few of the students were experienced performers and needed good preparation for acting a scene. They found the exercises so effective and beneficial; they wanted copies so that they could listen to them before studying for an exam, taking an exam, and to help them get to sleep at night. I'm sure you'll find this series helpful whether you are interested in reducing the effects of stress or want to both reduce stress and improve areas of your life. You don't need any previous experience in relaxation, meditation or any of the areas of the workshops to benefit from this series. I sincerely believe these recordings will make a positive, joyful and extraordinary difference in your life. FAQs Will I be able to benefit from these CDs if I'm not "new age" and have never taken other courses or workshops? *Yes. This CD series will enhance your life wherever you are at in life. It is written in plain English and designed so all people can comfortably gain the benefits these CDs provide. Many of my workshops participants had never attended others. They found they could quickly adjust to the exercises and guided meditations. If this is new to you, you may need initially to allow yourself to relax but it will happen quicker than you think. How do I decide which CDs to purchase? How do I best use this CD series? *First, ask yourself is "What are the results I want to produce?" If you simply want to relax and meditate, then the Relaxation and Meditation CD is for you. If you want something more or specific, read the short introductions on the home page and then the longer descriptions on the individual CD pages. Trust that you'll know which one(s) are for you. I suggest that you listen to the CD a couple of times while you're sitting up and remaining awake for maximum impact. After that, you can listen while drifting off to sleep. If you simply can't listen to the CD during waking hours immediately, plan a time when you can and then go ahead and listen to the CD drifting off to sleep. It's not necessary to listen while fully awake, but that can add value. After that you can listen to the CD anytime and anywhere. Is there added value in using all the CDs? Will that confuse me or help me? *I truly believe that you'll know which CDs to buy. I've put them all into this series because I know that each would benefit anyone. If you're not sure about getting them all initially, I suggest starting with the Relaxation and Meditation CD and listen to the Long version several times. That will allow you to become accustomed to the various exercises (such as muscle relaxation and 4-4-4-4 breathing) and to the various rooms in the sanctuary. If you want to start with a different CD, then give yourself time to adjust to the exercises and the various Sanctuary rooms. As with anything worth doing, practice is key. What is a Sanctuary? *The longest version of Relaxation and Meditation and many of the workshops contain exercises in a Sanctuary you build. A Sanctuary is a place in your imagination where you to go to relax and to create. Many of the guided meditations and some of the exercises in my workshops occur in your Sanctuary. While you create the physical appearance of your Sanctuary, your Sanctuary has specific rooms with specific purposes. During the 80's many personal growth workshops had sanctuaries, but didn't provide a way for participants to use them after the workshop. The Sanctuary created in the Magic Meditations Workshops series provides both a context for many of the exercises and a place you can visit in your creative imagination anytime you want to develop an ability, play, heal, and access your intuition. What is the difference between a guided meditation and an exercise? *Guided meditations are a special kind of exercise. In a guided meditation you're requested to imagine specific images or ideas and work with them. In my workshops and this CD series, most guided meditations are done in one of the rooms of the Sanctuary so that you have the tools of that room to support you in the guided meditation. Does this CD series require me to believe things that are against my religion or personal philosophy? *No. I honor and respect everyone's choices regarding religion, including those who chose no religion, and that is reflected in this series. I'm a teacher, not a guru. My qualifications are simply that I've studied, practiced, and taught this for many years. I'm happy practicing my religion but there is no proselytizing here. Whether you are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic or a member of any or no other organized religion, you should be able to use these CDs without conflict.
