Intellect is a rising star in the Hip Hop community and is being praised as the area's new street messiah. This unstoppable 23-year-old microphone maestro hails from Buffalo, New York, where his mother did her best to help him navigate through a turbulent adolescence. Overcoming every obsticle imaginable - including violence, poverty, drugs, his mother's suicide attempts and family strife - he has assembeled a total package of musical genius - and will soon achieve his goal of being the next dominant force in music. Intellect's fiercely competetive nature drove him to excel in music, when at 16 he blew out his first beat. Propelled by his extreme dissatisfaction with the state of Hip Hop and the industrie's shallow attempt to cash in on the genre, Intellect started to develop his music and his identity. Rooted in the drive to bring music back to where it was a reflection of struggle and purpose, he set out to re-define the music of a culture. Friends immediately recognized his talent and quickly fell in line to support the then novice. Never wanting to settle for being second-rate, Intellect became ferocious in his approach to writing. It was in 1999 when he stepped behind and put his talents on display. His appeal was, and remains, undeniable. Intellect was the spring-boarded into the Hip Hop industry with his debut hit CD, Prescribed Poetry, a 7-song EP on Intellect Records. The EP was remarkably well received by internet fans on HipHopPalace.com, where he was voted Artist of the Month over nationally recognized acts. Intellect's early singles 'The Anthem' and 'Rap the Blues' continue to receive regular spins on local mix shows and college stations such as WHUT 91.9FM in NYC and 88.1FM Rutgers University Radio.
