Island Jazz Quintet released the third album, "Who knows," to a standing-room-only crowd at the Crepe de Paris in downtown Seattle. Like the band's first two albums, this disc received national and international airplay and wide critical acclaim. Additionally, 'Who Knows' won a West Coast Songwriters award, while Just Call Adrienne is featured in 'Looking for Lenny,' a soon-to-be released documentary on the life of Lenny Bruce. Some comments on this album by others: Laird's title track is swinging, shuffle jazz reminiscent of '50's grooves a la Art Blakey, with original and engaging lyrics. -Taxi You guys have really hit your stride. I know by the fact that the originals are the best. 'Bluelike' and 'Just Call Adrienne' could be right out of the Messengers playlist. -Voice of Vashon Radio Just Listen to the personal touches and humor the band adds to 'What A Little Moonlight Can Do,' to see that this is a group that should be selling out shows all across the country. -Victory Review Check our website for upcoming shows and visit us on Facebook. We're planning our second annual mini-tour of the Northwest around Labor Day. So...folks in Portland, Eugene, and Vancouver, we look forward to more fun in 2012! Also check out IJQ's first two albums, 'Youkali,' and the self-titled premier release. Jerome Wilson of Cadence Magazine wrote, 'Youkali' is a French-Arabian tango sung and played with sensual zest, with Laird showing a good command of French and Person really smearing his trumpet..This group is obviously growing fast and it's future progress should be interesting.' 'This quintet would be right at home in a New York cabaret.'-Victory Review. Get your copy of 'Who Knows' now. They're selling like hot crepe!
