Biography of J. Fonixx Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Jude Hazel, a.k.a. J. Fonixx, has had a passion for the melodic arts since the tender age of 8 when he was blessed with his first instrument and soon after began discovering his gift for detailed sound and rhythm. It was the beginning of his infinite journey into music. His junior high school years proved prominent allowing J. Fonixx to express his talents as a member of his school band, where his heart and mind developed a profound appreciation for concert jazz. His cultural love for the steel drum inspired him to travel back to Brooklyn, New York to experience several years as a band member with the award winning steel orchestra, B.W.I. Sonatas. Giving him the edge he needed to defy the odds of hip hop by creating distinctive sounds to last a life time, the sobriquet J. Fonixx was formed. Today, J. Fonixx has developed a name for himself in the South Florida neo-soul and poetry/spoken word circuit, not only stimulating audiences with his smooth poetry, but dedicating himself to creating profound productions for some of Miami's hottest and most successful poets that have blessed the stages of Russell Simmons's def poetry jam. Hard work and devotion has lead him to his much anticipated debut album entitled Book of Jude.
