REVIEWER COMMENTS: Judith Gennet of Green Man Reviews said of Jed\'s music, \'You can hear the Folk in the Celtic and the Celtic in the Folk!\' Ireland\'s South East Radio said in it's review of this album, \'Jed Marum has his genetic roots in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Those genes must come from a long line of bards and storytellers to judge from his recorded output. I have collected a number of albums from this troubadour and he never fails to deliver.\' ___ \'This album is such a pleasure I\'m featuring it this coming week. An album that\'s a balanced mix of worthwhile songs, not overplayed, performed tastefully to a high standard ... such an album really stands out.\' Cheers, Eddie O\'Strange Town and Country Radio Belmont New Zealand ___ \'The featured CD also has a Celtic/Canadian flavour, although Jed Marum is not Canadian. The album, \'MILES FROM HOME\' was recorded at Paul Mill\'s studio, The Millstream in Toronto and using some very fine musicians with strong connections to the Borealis Label.\' Henk De Weerd \'Good Morning Folk\' 5EBI - 103 FM Adelaide, South Australia _____ \'... I especially admire your songs drawn from the histories of ordinary people. I appreciate the sensitivity with which you retell their stories in their voices and the immediacy of time and place that you manage to convey in a few short verses. These are wonderful portraits.\' Judy Rose Wisconsin Public Radio ____ \'... well worth listening to. It is not only going to be my \'featured\' album next show, but I think it is destined to be one of the Best of 2005. Norm Mast \'The Back Porch\' WVPE, NPR in Elkhart IN ALBUM DESCRIPTION: MILES FROM HOME is a repeat musical collaboration among Jed Marum and friends, Brian McNeill (Battlefield Band) - and producer Paul Mills (Stan Rogers and many many others). The album also features Tom Leighton (Mark Haines) as a guest performer. The instrumentation on MILES FROM HOME is guitar based, with some very fine guest performances by Brian McNeill on fiddle and concertina and Tom Leighton on accordion and piano.
