Christmas Through the Eyes of the Children
My goodness, you found your way to my music. That is quite a compliment, thank you! I guess I better suck it up and give you something substantial to deserve this. Listen, I am so proud of this CD that I could burst. Everything on it is quality and the lyrics are so imaginative that sometimes I think someone else must have written them. But don't let me convince you. Read the following review from Smoothjazz.com: ''Santa Claus wears a red suit, sometimes he wears a tie...' I love this lyric and I love the tune it comes from, 'Santa Claus Wears a Red Suit,' the opening track on CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE EYES OF THE CHILDREN. In fact, I love it so much, I can't get it out of my head. This project is a fun slam holiday dunk, just like cookies in milk. The Spokane singer/songwriter has penned an all-original Christmas collection that not only belongs in your player, but on your holiday gift giving list. It's smooth, it's mellow, and it's super-hooky, which is the number one priority for Christmas songs... It's a fun project and albeit somewhat reminiscent of yesteryear... This facet of the album actually puts a big smile on my face. Jeff Gustafson's voice is warm, elegant and perfectly pitched. His lyrics range from sweet and sincere ('I Love My Christmas' and 'Through The Eyes of the Children') to amusing and entertaining ('Dancer's Got On Boxers' and 'We'll Leave on the Back Porch Light'). Ten new festive songs in all, CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE EYES OF THE CHILDREN is soon to be a holiday classic. Once you get a listen to 'Santa Claus Wears a Red Suit,' you'll be singing it all season long! ~SANDY SHORE'
