From layered indie-rock groove-pop to sparse mood music with a story. Sometimes, heavy and sonic, other times, bone dry and to the heart. Tracks like 'suzi kyu green' and 'know your name' will make you want to dance while songs such as 'less-than' and 'belushi' will hit you in the gut. 'Action!' and 'TV' are mid-tempo ones that glue the two sides together well. Both being songs with message that have well placed instrumentation. The record as a whole is dynamically ranged and is well produced with out being overly so. Jeff Martini and Producer/Engineer, Mike New, grew up near and were influenced by the DIY attitude of the DC post-punk scene. Although the music doesn't match that genre you can feel some of the influence in attitude. Much effort was put into the packaging of the CD as award winning New York Painter/Designer, Tim Okamura, did all the artwork. The CD itself contains a smattering of a journal in the liner notes documenting the time period that Jeff and Mike worked on the record after being displaced by a fire. Also containing a password to Jeff Martini's web site that unlocks a secrets section for free downloads of demos and such, adding to the benefit of buying the CD. Check it out--.
