Postcards to Friends & Family
Jessica Eschman wishes she were Prince. Really, she's just a Bay Area piano singer-songwriter. But that won't stop her from trying. Her debut album, Postcards to Friends and Family, pairs soulful melodies and thoughtful lyrics over a variety of piano-driven styles. She draws inspiration from cabaret-style piano/torch singers as well as good old fashioned roots rockers and it shows. Her songs are accessible yet evocative, familiar yet unique. From the up tempo flirtation "Make it Quick" to the unrequited "Waiting", Postcards plays somewhat like a conversation with an old friend. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll squander your daytime minutes. For more Jessie, check out jessicaeschman.com. Or, hear her band, The Fireflies, at myspace.com/fireflynation.
