I sat down, and I started in, the mood I was in was expressive, like all of this stuff was coming out. My energy was flowing out onto the keys, and the album just happened. The amazing part, was driving home after I recorded it, and I listened, and the images and themes of the songs just came to me with each track. I listened to these tracks over and over, and I just wanted a piece of me in my music of what I have experienced over the last few years. The album is a little stormy, and can be a little dark at times, but this makes it rich and even deeper. If you have an appreciation for solo piano, you will find this very relaxing, and soothing, and very creative. The songs take you on your own journey. Water Chimes is especially interesting with the ripples of water dancing throughout the piece and if water could speak, this is how it would sound in music. I would say that this is a spiritual group of compositions, except for Westside which is a little more dark. It tells a story of sadness and pleas of why oh why and how did it come to be, lives of captivity, and some of the corruption and evil that dances. This is my first group of compositions, and very improvised and channeled and spontaneous music.
