Jim Billie served as the chairman of The Seminole Tribe of Florida for more than twenty years. He is the most prominent Native American in the United States and is directly responsible for the business and financial success of the Seminole Tribe by opening the first Indian bingo parlor in the United States in the 1970's. Jim Billie is a prolific writer of Seminole legends and stories, turning them into important and sometimes humorous songs about the history and culture of the Seminole people. Jim continues singing and performing his songs at concerts and festivals throughout Florida and the US.
