I was born in 1951 to Corbett and Vera Wooten and lived in Cleveland, Ga. till my mid 20's. I started playing guitar around the age of 12 after talking my Dad into buying an acoustic guitar. He found one for $12 at a pawn shop. It was a Stella and it was instant love. I loved the shape, the sound, and the way it felt. It wasn't long till I was introduced to Chet Atkins via a couple of old Chet albums my Dad had found for me. That did it for me. After that, I don't remember much that didn't involve guitar. I became obsessed with guitar. I went into my room with my guitar, my Chet Atkins/Merle Travis albums, and an old record player; I never came out, metaphorically speaking, of course. This album contains songs that are a tribute to the area where I lived as a kid, to my family, to my musical influences, and to something I wanted to do more than drive a car as a teenager, Play Guitar. All songs written by and all parts performed by Jimmy Wooten Recorded at Dog Logic Studio (home) using Nuendo, Sound Forge, Vintech, Apogee, dbx 165a and 160, Audio Technica, Taylor Guitars, Alvarez Guitars, Custom made Strat and Tele, Fender and Boogie Amps, Roland Guitar Synthesizer, Line 6 Pod XT and Pod V2. Recorded 2005/2006.
