Brave New World
Jody Glenham's independent debut may have been recorded in Edmonton, Alberta but 'there's good reason to be claiming (her) as one of our own...' John Kendle, Editor (Uptown Magazine) The Winnipeg singer/songwriter released 'Brave New World' in 2006. Produced by James Murdoch and Captain Tractor founder, Chris Wynters, it featured electronic programming by former Watchmen and Thornley bassist Ken Tizzard. The 'glorious piano pop debut' (Sandra Sperounes - Edmonton Journal) charted on !earshot and was sought out by CBC Radio for play nationwide. The album was also listed in MARIA's Release Highlights for 2006. The standout track, 'When I Grow Up', with it's pots-and-pans rhythm section, was named Top 3 Song of 2006 by The Edmonton Journal and was included in the Winter 2008 issue of Vancouver arts magazine, One Cool Word. Having Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg all as cities to call home, this wandering spirit has toured extensively throughout the prairies. As well as playing showcases for New Music West and the Western Canadian Music Awards; she has shared the stage with such Canadian mainstays as Justin Rutledge, Jenn Grant, Chad VanGaalen, Danny Michel, Christine Fellows and Veda Hille.
