John David Burke: A Biographical Resume' Composer/Arranger/Conductor and Producer, John David Burke, does more than write original music scores for his diverse and notable clientele. He creates 'Music Visions' for award-winning productions. He has been called to collaborate with some of the world's most talented individuals, to serve some of our nation's largest corporations, institutions, and creative enterprises. John David generates his own "Virtual Reality.' He thinks in many different disciplines, while at the same time seeing things others cannot. His provocative sonic textures, evocative melodic lyricism, and visionary technological mastery blend together to form a tapestry of expressions that inform, entice, encourage, and inspire. John David Burke attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, majoring in Music Composition and Performance on Trumpet, with a minor in Conducting. He studied Music Composition with Joseph Wood and Arnold Schoenberg's music secretary and confidant, Richard Hoffman. His Master Class training was under the tutelage of Pulitzer Prize winning composer, George Rochberg. John David's additional private study on trumpet was with the famed trumpet soloist, Emerson Head. While at Oberlin, John David also explored the jazz idiom with drummer Kenny Clark, and saxophonist Leon Henderson. Having a keen interest in all forms of musical expression, John David developed a mastery of electronic musique concrete, third stream, jazz-fusion, and classical contemporary compositions. This multilingual musical ability serves him well in Original Music Score Production for Film, Television, Records, Advertising, and all forms of Digital Content Creation. John David is currently transferring his multi-track master tapes to the digital domain, in order to produce a variety of independent CD releases. These master tapes comprise his diverse catalog of solely owned original music scores. The 'Music Visions' CD is the first of this series . Each new CD release will be available for licensing in new productions, as is 'Music Visions.' John David Burke is a recipient of the Aulos Award for outstanding musicianship, and the John Philip Sousa Award for Music Composition. He holds the distinction of being the youngest Principal Trumpet Player to perform under the baton of Leopold Stokowsky in the National American Youth Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. WISDOM HATH BUILDED HER HOUSE, (Live performance): Originally commissioned for the Women In Military Service for America Foundation. The title is taken from Proverbs 9:1a, however, the music is a processional anthem depicting Revelation 21:9-27. Members of the National Symphony Orchestra performed the premiere in the Grand Ballroom of the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D.C. Patrick Kavanaugh conducted.
