Fine Fine World
San Francisco Bay Area native, John Cross, has a fine new CD in Fine Fine World, a collection of 11 new songs and two remixed tunes from the last disc (John Cross & The Feral Cats). Again he has brought along some awesome talent in the person of Tim Cain, best known as an original member of The Sons Of Champlain, and an award winning producer of original songs for children. Tim added horns, strings, keys, percussion and background vocals. Drummers CC Dawson and Kevin Hayes (Robert Cray Band, Bassists Richard Mithun and Steve Bennett, Piano master Austin deLone and vocalist Jim Warren also contributed their talents. The music is catchy - laced with vocal and guitar hooks throughout. Cross\'s jazz guitar background is obvious on tracks such as \'Natalie\'s On Tonight\' and \'The Banks Of The River Seine\'. He shows his rock side on \'Living In A Dreamworld\' and \'The Way It Is\'. The inescapable sixties McCartney influence is evident on several tracks, especially on the pretty, acoustic guitar driven \'Eye Of The Storm\'. This disc should gain fans from all generations.
