Beyond the Oak
I've been writing for a few decades, so there are plenty of influences in the songs - especially progressive rock and counterpoint. I'd like to think I'm a bit like Peter Gabriel, only without the talent... This CD is a stand-alone concept album. Each CD I've recorded is different, although there is always an underlying strangeness. I offer each song as a world in which one can become immersed. I've been a session musician for years now, and laying down simple guitar, vocals, bass and keyboard quickly is a skill I never take for granted. I hope my desire for simplicity reflects in the marriage of the words and music. All opinions welcomed, including heavy flak. After all, songs are more important than egos, don't you think?
